BLUEBONNET ELECTRIC AWARDS $63,000 TO AREA FIRE DEPARTMENTS

  

Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative is giving back to local and area fire departments.

The cooperative’s board of directors unanimously voted recently to award $1,000 grants to all 63 fire departments that protect and serve communities in the cooperative’s 14-county service area.

The grants are in recognition of the work the fire departments have done this summer. 

Bluebonnet General Manager Matt Bentke said this year’s extreme heat and drought conditions tested fire departments and stretched their resources.  Bluebonnet Board Chairman Ben Flencher said the departments “have done an outstanding job protecting our homes, businesses and property.”
