The parade will start at 10 a.m. and have a theme of “Denim Jeans and Country Dreams.”  The grand marshal for the parade is Freddie Engelbrecht, who served 56 years on the fair board and is the inaugural member of the Austin County Fair Director Emeritus program.

The parade route has changed this year, as it will turn from East Main Street onto South Front Street and end at Austin County State Bank.  It will not cross the railroad tracks.

The carnival opens at 11 a.m., and it is Armed Forces Day at the fair, providing $5 off of entry if in uniform or with military ID.  Gulf War veterans will meet in the American Legion building from 5 to 8 p.m., prior to the rodeo.  All students from Austin County schools are admitted free until 5 p.m.

Livestock judging concludes today, leading up to tomorrow’s (Friday) Youth Livestock Auction at 10 a.m.

Tonight’s entertainment includes Kin Faux at 8 p.m. and Coffey Anderson at 10 p.m.

KTEX-106’s Dean Dillon will broadcast live from the parade this morning in the KTEX Country Cruiser, with Trail Boss Troy also on hand to announce the parade.  Dean Dillon will also host “The Drive Home” from the fairgrounds this afternoon, with the Wagon Wheel of Prizes.
