BRENHAM SCHOOL BOARD TO DISCUSS SUPT. APPLICANTS

The Brenham School Board will review applications for the district superintendent position when it meets tomorrow (Wednesday).

In an executive session, trustees plan to discuss position applications.  They will then go into open session where they are slated to act on the number of applicants to be interviewed.  They will also hold discussion with a Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) consultant regarding the superintendent search process.

Following a special meeting on October 2nd, the school board named Clay Gillentine as the acting superintendent.  He is serving in place of Dr. Tylor Chaplin, who had originally planned to retire at the end of December but left the position sooner than initially announced.

Brenham ISD plans to have a new superintendent in place for the spring 2024 semester.  The district is engaging with TASB for the search process.

The board will meet tomorrow at 6 p.m. in the Brenham ISD Administration Office.
