BRYAN MAN SENTENCED TO 20 YEARS IN PRISON

A Bryan man will be spending the next 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple charges in the Brazos County District Court.

34-year-old Mauricio Rollo Jr. was charged with Assault of a Peace Officer, Retaliation, and Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver between 4 grams and 200 grams.

Rollo was pulled over by a Bryan Police Officer on May 16, 2021 for failing to signal a turn.

According to reports, Rollo got out of the vehicle, became verbally combative with the officer, and refused to follow the officer’s directions.

The defendant told the officer that he was going to run, which prompted the officer to place him in handcuffs.

Rollo then yelled for his passenger to lock the vehicle and take the keys so that officers could not search it. 

He followed that up by kneeing the policeman in the groin, and making repeated attempts to kick him.

After a search of the vehicle was conducted, over 13 grams of methamphetamines was found inside.

Rollo bonded out of jail, and then was arrested again on March 23, 2022 when Bryan Police pulled him over, and found another 17 grams of methamphetamines.

During transport to jail, Rollo is said to have made numerous threats to multiple police officers including that he would assault and sexually assault them and their family members.

While making the threats, Rollo attempt to get out of his handcuffs, and come through the partition in the patrol vehicle.

According to the Brazos County D.A’s Office, Rollo has an extensive criminal history that dates back to 2007.
