BRENHAM MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENT TO COMPETE IN REGIONAL SPELLING BEE SATURDAY
A Brenham Middle School student is set to represent Washington County tomorrow (Saturday) at the Scripps Regional Spelling Bee.
Will Hefferly advanced to the regional bee after last month’s Washington County Spelling Bee. Will is a 6th grade student at Brenham Middle School and the son of Andrew and Abigail Hefferly.
The regional spelling bee will be held at Houston Community College’s Missouri City campus, 1600 Texas Parkway, starting at 10 a.m.
Washington County is one of 22 counties participating in the Regional Spelling Bee. Other area counties include Austin, Grimes and Waller counties.
The top three spellers will advance to the Scripps National Spelling Bee in May at the Gaylord Resort & Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
