FAYETTEVILLE GETS WALK-OFF WIN OVER BURTON 6-5

In a see-saw game last (Tuesday) night, the Fayetteville Lions picked up a walk off win over the Burton Panther Baseball Team.

Tyler Witt drew a walk to lead off the game. He would then steal second and Logun Tosta laid down a sacrifice bunt to get him to third base. Colby Beck reached on an error that allowed to score, and put Burton up 1-0.

Fayetteville tied it 1-1 in the bottom of the third. Jason Halfmann drew a lead-off walk, and Keagan Supak brought him home with an RBI double. Jack Schley put the Lions in front 2-1 with an RBI double of his own that scored Supak.

Jake Kubala followed with a single to bring in Schley with the third run of the inning, and later stole second. Lawson Fritsch singled in Kubala, Brody Dooley reached on an error that brought home Fritsch, and the Lions were in front 5-1.

Tosta and Braydon Martin drew back-to-back walks. Beck reached on an error again, which allowed Tosta to score. Later in the inning, Reuben Rodriguez singled in Beck to cut the Fayetteville lead down to 5-3.

In the top of the 7th inning, Beck led it off with a walk, stole second, and then scored on an RBI single by Rodriguez. Rodriguez stole second, and then scored on a infield single by Ryder Biggs followed by another Fayetteville error. That tied the game 5-5 heading to the bottom of the seventh.

Schley drew a one-out walk, stole second, and came in to score on an RBI single by Chance Konvicka.

The series resumes on Thursday at 6:30pm in Burton.
