Joel Romo of the Chappell Hill Historical Society says the weather could not have been better for festivalgoers to enjoy shopping at vendors, listening to live music and experiencing the scenic countryside.  He estimates that nearly 15,000 people in total attended the festival between Saturday and Sunday.

Romo is thankful for another successful event, saying many people make Chappell Hill an annual destination for it.

Money raised by the Historical Society at the festival goes toward its preservation of local historic buildings like the Museum, Providence Baptist Church, The Rock Store and the Circulating Library.  It also supports future Historical Society programs and activities.

The Bluebonnet Festival is one of the Historical Society’s two major annual events.  Romo says work and planning are already underway for the Scarecrow Festival in the fall.
