DRUG DEALER SENTENCED TO 25 YEARS IN PRISON

An accused drug dealer will be off the streets for the next 25 years after entering a guilty plea in the Grimes County District Court.

Ronnie Zephyn (Grimes County Jail)

On Monday, 58-year-old Ronnie Dewain Zephyn pled guilty to a charge of Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance before 506th District Judge Gary Chaney.

He was sentenced to 25 years in prison as part of a plea agreement made with District Attorney Andria Bender.

According to a press release from Bender, Zephyn has an extensive criminal history, and under Texas law would face a habitual punishment range.

Zephyn was arrested on April 6, 2023 after leading police on a high-speed chase that ended in the parking of the Dollar General in Navasota.

After making the arrest, Officer Ethan Tyler discovered Zephyn to be in possession of almost 11 grams of methamphetamines.

While out on bond, Zephyn was arrested again in northern Grimes County on December 30, 2023. Following a traffic stop, he was discovered to be in possession of nearly 14 grams of methamphetamines.
