FUNDRAISER SET FOR LOCAL BUSINESSMAN RECOVERING FROM SEVERE BURNS

A fundraiser has been set for a local businessman, who has been hospitalized with severe burns following an accident at his restaurant.

The fundraiser is for J.B. Royer of Royer’s Round Top Café.

On the Fourth of July, Royer was preparing a meal for a wedding later in the day, when a hot grease spill caused Royer to suffer multiple burns on his body.

Fayette County Precinct Two Constable Roger Wunderlich, who was stationed nearby because of the annual parade, arrived on the scene quickly to assist.

Royer was taken by Fayette County EMS to Dell Seton Hospital in Austin. He underwent surgery this past Wednesday for his injuries.

A fundraiser has been organized to help the Royer family with medical expenses. It is going to be held on Saturday, July 25, from 6-8pm at the Round Top Rifle Hall.

Admission is $10.

They will have live music from the Black Cat Choir. Food and drinks are being sold separately.

All donations are greatly accepted.

All goods and services are being donated for the event.
