FEMA ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE IN AUSTIN, WALLER COUNTIES FOR STORM DAMAGE

Residents in Austin and Waller counties who were impacted by the severe storms this spring or Hurricane Beryl are eligible to apply for disaster assistance through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

Homeowners and renters who incurred losses or damages as the result of the storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes and flooding between April 26th and June 5th have until Thursday, August 15th to apply.  The deadline for aid stemming from Hurricane Beryl is October 10th.

Some of the assistance available includes for housing, transportation, work tools and equipment, household appliances and basic furnishings, and clothing.

FEMA grant funding does not need to be repaid and is available to qualifying individuals and families to assist them with disaster recovery.  Residents are still encouraged, though, to contact their insurance provider in order to make sure they are able to restore as much property affected by the storms as possible.

Residents can learn more about the assistance available to them or apply at https://disasterassistance.gov
