BRENHAM FIREFIGHTERS RESPOND TO TWO ACCIDENTS TUESDAY; ONE TRANSPORTED

One person was taken to the hospital after a crash Tuesday afternoon north of Brenham.

Shortly before 1:45 p.m., the Brenham Fire Department was called to the 4100 block of Highway 36 North for a report of a transportation incident with entrapment.  Units arrived on location to find a two-vehicle accident with one driver entrapped.  Firefighters extricated the driver, who was transported by Washington County EMS to Baylor Scott & White in Brenham with unknown injuries.  The department then cleaned the roadway off and returned to service.

Another crash was reported at 3 p.m. in the 2600 block of Highway 36 South.  Firefighters found a three-vehicle accident.  They checked on the drivers and passengers and found injuries, so Washington County EMS was dispatched to the scene, though the fire department says no one was transported.  BFD members used dry absorbent on a spill and cleaned the roadway from debris.  Once the vehicles were removed from the roadway, all firefighters returned to service.

The fire department had two other calls on Tuesday, both alarm calls.  Approaching 9:45 a.m., units went out to the 1900 block of FM 389, but while enroute, dispatch advised that proper code was given for cancellation.

The other alarm call came at 5:30 p.m., when firefighters were dispatched to a home in the 900 block of Cobble Gate Drive.  Nothing was showing from the exterior of the home.  Units spoke with the homeowner, who advised they burnt food on the stove and had already reset the alarm.
