BRENHAM GAMECHANGERS SETS NEW RECORDS AT ‘PURSE BINGO’

  

Organizers for the Brenham GameChangers’ Annual Purse Bingo on Thursday are celebrating what they say is a banner year for the event.

According to Brenham GameChangers Board Treasurer Chris Cangelosi, 778 people attended the fundraiser at Silver Wings Ballroom, enjoying Bingo games and prize drawings for designer purses.

Cangelosi says final numbers are still being compiled, but the estimated net profit from Thursday’s event is $81,000.  Both the number of attendees and the net profit are records. 

Brenham GameChangers offers activity scholarships to provide local youth the opportunity to take part in sports, music, art, dance and other activities.  The organization also leads a school supply drive each summer, provides etiquette lunches and mock interviews for high school students, and supports the Faith Mission SMART Kids program.

Cangelosi says since the inception of Brenham GameChangers in 2018, the organization has awarded $207,000 in scholarships to children in Washington County.
