GLAESMANN NO-HITTER LEADS BURTON PAST IOLA 11-0
The Burton Lady Panther Softball Team continues to roll through District 26-2A as they defeated Iola 11-0 earlier tonight (Friday).
It was a big night for Burton Pitcher Bailey Glaesmann, who picked up her 800th career strikeout (she had 14 on the night), and also threw a no-hitter.
Burton put the game away early with four runs in each of the first two innings. They would then get one more in the third, and two in the fourth to enforce the mercy rule.
Amaya Williams and Paige Fritsch each hit a two-run homer in the game. Lexi Broesche had three hits, score twice, and drove in two more.
The Lady Panthers are now 16-3 on the season and 10-0 in district. Burton has a bye for Tuesday, but elected to keep busy with a game against Episcopal at 4:30pm.
