BRENHAM MAN KILLED IN GRIMES CO. COLLISION
A Brenham man was killed and another was injured in a two-vehicle crash on Friday in Grimes County.
The collision occurred around 6:30 p.m along Highway 105 near FM 1748, east of Navasota.
According to DPS Sergeant Justin Ruiz, a 2006 Ford F-150 was traveling westbound on Highway 105. As it approached a curve in the roadway, Sgt. Ruiz said the vehicle did not keep a single lane and went into the opposite lane, where it struck the front quarter panel of an eastbound 2017 Ford Fusion.
The driver of the Fusion, 37-year-old Louis Cummins of Brenham, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the F-150, 26-year-old Isaiah Martinez of Brenham, was transported to Baylor Scott & White in College Station with injuries believed to be minor.
DPS' investigation of the crash is ongoing.
