Beginning mid-August, the construction will replace the existing low-water crossing near the 1500 block of Burleson Street with a new, elevated bridge structure.  The city says it is a critical infrastructure project that will improve access and safety for residents during heavy rain events.

Construction is estimated to continue through February 2026.  During the initial phases, Burleson Street will remain open, albeit with periodic closures at times for thru traffic.  As construction progresses, a full road closure at the low-water crossing will be needed to safely complete the bridge work.

Residents who live north of the construction site should use Lounge Road for access.  Residents south of the site can access their properties via Blue Bell Road.  Work crews and heavy equipment will be active in the area, so drivers are asked for patience and to proceed with caution.

Construction will occur Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.  The city has contracted with Solid Bridge Construction and says they are committed to maintaining property access and clear communication throughout the duration of the project.
