BURTON OPENS WITH 36-13 WIN OVER HOLLAND
The Burton Panther Football Team got the season off to a good start with a 36-13 win over the Holland Hornets last (Friday) night.
The Panthers got on the board with a trio of touchdowns in the first quarter. Kayden Patterson got Burton in the end zone first on a 62-yards run. Maleek Bibby scored on a two-yard touchdown run. Kayden Patterson followed with a 29-yard touchdown run to put Burton ahead 18-0.
The Panthers scored in the second quarter on a 40-yard touchdown run by Patterson. Holland found the end zone for the first time to make it 24-7 Burton going into the locker room at halftime.
Both teams traded touchdowns in the third quarter. The Panthers' score came on a 70-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by Patterson. Burton led 30-13 going into the final quarter.
In the fourth, Patterson found Bibby on a 34-yard pass to set up the next score. Bibby punched it in on a one- yard touchdown run to help the Panthers secure the win.
Next up, Burton will host Hearne on Friday at 7pm at Panther Stadium. KWHI will have live coverage beginning with the pregame at 6:30pm.
