BLINN UTILITY PLANT REMODELING LEADS BRENHAM BUILDING PERMITS IN AUGUST

  

Work on the Blinn College campus in Brenham drove the month of August for building permits issued by the city.

Blinn took out a $6.2 million permit for the remodeling of the existing central utility plant at 902 College Avenue.  The project is led by Spawglass out of Houston. 

Another permit of note went to Leftovers Antiques for $350,000 for the purpose of interior remodeling at 203 West Alamo Street, formerly the location of The Pomegranate/Funky Art Café. 

Four new homes were permitted in August for $1,340,251.  So far this year, 181 new homes have been permitted for $31,850,578. 

The city issued 19 permits in August for $8,598,929.  In August 2024, 36 permits were taken out for $9,297,470.

So far this year, the city has issued 339 permits worth $68,332,803.  Through this time a year ago, 225 permits had been granted for $35,584,638.
