The court will act on utilizing CargoHome as a sole source vendor for EMS Station No. 6, due to what the agenda describes as “the unique design, construction method, and compatibility requirements of the facility.”
The proposal from CargoHome is for a custom-built response station built from “high-quality prefabricated container units.” It describes the station as being built with “insulated, weather-resistant container structures that minimize maintenance while maximizing energy efficiency.”
Features include two bedrooms and a kitchen with living area and bathroom facilities, a self-contained private suite and elevated rooftop decking.
The estimated total is $496,706, which include two 40-foot containers and one 20-foot container, the upper decking package with the 640-square-foot elevated deck, architecture and engineering costs, site preparation, delivery and setting, and assembly. Previous court discussions on the EMS station have noted the intent to pay for the project using Texas Ambulance Supplemental Payment (TASP) funding and/or donations.
In other business, commissioners will hear a presentation and progress update from PlanNorth on projects in the Expo master plan. The plan covers a new covered rodeo arena, drainage and utilities, and repairs and maintenance.
Also in session, the court will:
- Consider accepting a donation to Washington County EMS from Texans United for Freedom.
- Act on revisions to the county’s purchasing policy, bringing it into compliance with recent legislative changes effective September 1st and providing additional clarity regarding purchasing methods and cooperative purchasing options.
- Vote on the 2026 Sheriff’s and Constable’s fees.
- Hear monthly reports from the district clerk, auditor, justices of the peace, tax assessor-collector, treasurer, constables, elections and veterans service office.
Commissioners will meet Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Washington County Courthouse.
