TWO ACCIDENTS AMONG FOUR WEEKEND RESPONSES FOR BRENHAM FD
The Brenham Fire Department was called out four times between Saturday afternoon and early Sunday morning.
Shortly after 5:15 p.m., Saturday, firefighters were dispatched for a transportation incident at Highway 36 North and Blue Bell Road. They found a two-vehicle accident with no one entrapped, and there were no fluids leaking. Units helped with patient care and returned to service after both vehicles were removed from the roadway.
Around 6 p.m., a report of a vehicle fire was called in from the 3100 block of Highway 105. No smoke or fire was coming from the vehicle, but there was oil leaking from the engine compartment, which caused the smoke. Firefighters returned to the station.
A few minutes after 12:15 a.m. Sunday, BFD members responded to the 600 block of Highway 290 West for a transportation incident. They found a single vehicle on the side of the road with fluids leaking and stood by until TxDOT arrived to put down dry absorbent on the spill.
Close to 5:30 a.m., the department received a call of a fire alarm at the Brenham State Supported Living Center, 4001 Highway 36 South. Nothing was showing from the exterior of the building, and firefighters walked the building to find no smoke or fire. After resetting the alarm, all units cleared the scene.
