The official waste management provider for the City of Somerville, BVR Waste and Recycling, is making a significant investment in the community.
BVR started delivering new dumpsters and residential trash cans to the citizens of Somerville this past Monday.
According to BVR, the purpose of the investment is to enhance waste management services and ensure a smooth experience for residents and businesses as the service begins on Wednesday, October 1.
In support of BVR’s initiative, Citizens State Bank provided financing for the purchase of the assets.
COO of BIG Jeremiah Byerly said, "This investment, supported by Citizens State Bank, ensures we can deliver a level of service that residents and businesses deserve."
Citizens State Bank President and CEO Aaron Flencher added, "Partnering with BVR Waste and Recycling allows us to provide resources that directly serve local families and businesses, while helping to ensure Somerville’s waste management needs are met for years to come."
Residential pick-ups will be on Wednesdays and Fridays. Any locations from 8th Street and south will be picked up on Wednesdays. Any locations north of 8th Street will be picked up on Fridays.
They ask that carts be placed outside on the curb by 7am on collection day, or after 8pm the night before. Dumpsters should be removed by 8pm on collection day.
The arrows on the lid should face the street with the wheels facing your home.
The collection bill for BVR’s services will be included with the monthly utility bill from the City of Somerville.
