SOMERVILLE MAN KILLED IN CRASH NEAR CALDWELL

  

A Somerville man was killed in an accident early Sunday morning just outside of Caldwell.

The crash happened shortly before 5 a.m. on Highway 36 at County Road 107.

According to DPS Sergeant Justin Ruiz, a 1997 Jeep Wrangler was traveling northbound on Highway 36 when, for an undetermined reason, it went off the roadway and struck a road sign.  It continued down into the ditch, where it overturned and struck a wooden pole. 

The driver, 49-year-old William Bailey, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Bailey was the lone occupant of the vehicle, and no other vehicles were involved.
