ROAD CLOSURE FOR BURLESON STREET LOW WATER CROSSING BEGINS MONDAY
Road closures are planned to start next week as part of an ongoing drainage improvement project on Burleson Street in Brenham.
Construction got underway in mid-August to replace the low water crossing near the 1500 block of Burleson Street with a new bridge structure.
The City of Brenham says total closure of the crossing will begin on Monday, October 20th. Only local traffic will be allowed. Drivers are advised to use the detour route or find another route. Full closure of the crossing is expected to continue until February 2026.
Residents north of the crossing will access via Lounge Road, while those to the south will enter from Blue Bell Road.
Work hours are Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The city has contracted with Solid Bridge Construction.
The public is asked to use caution in the area and respect all posted detours.
