BRENHAM SCHOOL BOARD TO REVIEW HAIL DAMAGE INVOICES, VOTE ON LIBRARY BOOK PURCHASES

Invoices from repairs to the hail damage sustained at Brenham ISD campuses in the spring will be taken up by the Brenham School Board on Monday.

Trustees will vote on accepting the invoices from Parsons Roofing and Belfor Property Restoration, who performed repairs at the middle school and junior high school after a spring hailstorm and heavy rainfall brought about major roof and interior water damage

Brenham ISD carries approximately a $1 million insurance deductible.  District officials have also stated that proceeds from the $39 million bond measure on the November 4th ballot could be used retroactively to cover repair costs.

Other items on the agenda will include a public hearing and possible action on the purchase of library books, a public hearing on the district’s annual School FIRST financial accountability rating, consideration of the campus and district improvement plans, and potential acceptance of a donation of art supplies.

The board will also hear the annual bilingual and ESL program report and go through a safety and security update.

At the end of the meeting, trustees are expected to go into executive session to discuss superintendent goals and responsibilities.

The board will meet Monday at 6 p.m. in rooms 111 and 113 at Brenham High School.  The meeting will be livestreamed on Brenham ISD’s YouTube channel
