ERIC BERG TO RUN FOR RE-ELECTION AS WASHINGTON CO. COURT AT LAW JUDGE
Washington County Court at Law Judge Eric Berg has announced he will seek re-election in the March Republican primary.
Berg has served nearly 10 years on the bench, beginning after his appointment in 2016. He won re-election in 2018 and did not have an opponent in 2022.
Berg said serving Washington County in this position has been a “distinct honor and privilege.” He said he aspires to “serve the community to the very best of my abilities, and give Washington County a court in which they can have pride and confidence.”
Berg said the nature of the judge’s position and the issues that come before the court means that not every litigant will be pleased, but his goal is to provide everyone an opportunity to be heard and have their day in court. He said through the application of education, experience, common sense and principles of impartiality, he strives to “apply the law fairly, consistently and sensibly while treating all parties with dignity and respect.”
Berg concluded by saying he hopes he has met and exceeded expectations and plans to continue doing so if re-elected.
Tomorrow (Saturday) marks the first official day to file for a place on the primary ballot. The deadline is Monday, December 8th.
