BJHS STUDENTS QUALIFY FOR ALL REGION BAND

Several outstanding band students at the Brenham Junior High School have earned positions in the highly competitive Texas Music Educators Association Junior High All-Region Band.

Students competed against peers from Cypress ISD, Spring Woods, and Waller, with fewer than 20% of auditioning students earning placement.

Those chosen were Wynn Clark, Wyatt Capehart, Shelby Wheeler, Jamie Flores, Kayleen Zientek, Cayden Zientek, Charlie Schramme, and Carter Smith.

Brenham Junior High Band Director Karla Rettig said that this achievement reflects not only their musical talent, but also discipline, preparation, and commitment to excellence.

Their dedication and hard work started in August by learning scales and music at a high level and competing in October for placement in the band

Those selected will represent Brenham Junior High as they participate in the official clinic and concert event held in Cypress, performing alongside the top middle school musicians in the region.

Jamie Flores will also represent Brenham in the TMEA All Region Orchestra in December, a spot he earned by placing as the 4th trumpet overall in the region.
