The Washington County 4-H Livestock Quiz Bowl team took part in the recent North American International Livestock Exposition in Louisville, Kentucky.

Washington County 4-H, who also represented District 11 4-H, Brenham ISD, and Burton ISD, was the sole Texas team at the event.

The National 4-H Livestock Quiz Bowl Competition hosted 82 individuals participating from 19 different states.

Washington County 4-H Team members consist of Brenham and Burton High School Students that are sophomore, juniors, and seniors.

The Team consisted of Calvin Wunderlich - Team Captain and Chair One, Hailey Rudloff - Chair Two, Mallory Winkelmann - Chair Three, and Matthew Philips - Chair Four.

The final round came down to competing against Nebraska. Starting off strong, Washington County was ahead by 60 points before phase three of the game. A few toss up questions with bonuses attached, answered in the opposing team’s favor, led to a Nebraska win as the final buzzer sounded.

Despite the untimely end to Washington County’s National Game, the team placed in the top 50% of the contest, besting over 10 other teams.

In addition to the team’s success, Calvin Wunderlich was named 9th High Point Individual overall during the awards ceremony.
