BELLVILLE FIREFIGHTERS RECOGNIZED AT ANNUAL APPRECIATION DINNER
The Bellville Volunteer Fire Department’s Annual Appreciation Dinner featured special recognitions, the swearing in of new officers, and a changing of the guard.
Outgoing Fire Chief Mike Kasprowicz was recognized for his 14 years as head of the department.
According to the Bellville Times, Kasprowicz is not leaving the Fire Department. Instead, Kasprowicz will be transitioning into his new role as Finance Administrator, where he will be pursuing grants and other fundraising opportunities for the all-volunteer organization.
Clyde Gordon was sworn in to be the new Fire Chief. Joining him will be Dexter Cole as First Assistant Chief and Jason Gaines as Second Assistant Chief.
They also swore in the department’s new officers including President Jesse Grimm, Vice President Jason Greene, Secretary Joe Horak, Treasurer Chris Masters, and Assistant Treasurer Gary Grawunder.
In addition to that, Jereamy Cevallos and Jason Greene were named as Co-Firefighters of the Year.
Special recognition was also given to Dusty Kendrick for 50 years of service, Desmond Anderson for 40 years of service, and Ken Marcus for 20 years of service.
New Bellville Police Chief, Kevin Bellville, served as the guest speaker for the evening. He spoke about his appreciation for the local firefighters, and the great relationship their two departments share.
