In their second game of the day, the Cubettes finally picked up their first win of the tournament. They defeated Cedar Park 9-2.
Cedar Park picked up the first run in the bottom of the first inning off of starting pitcher Laityn Davis.
It would stay a 1-0 game until the top of the third inning, when Brenham would score three runs. Ali Tiemann led off the inning by beating out a bunt for a single. Then, she stole second and third, before scoring on a suicide squeeze by Payson Gurka to tie the game at 1-1. McKenzie Tiemann reached on an error. Davis would then help herself with the bat by slugging a two-run triple that scored both Gurka and McKenzie to put Brenham in front 3-1.
The Cubettes added two more in the top of the fourth inning. Harper Castillo started the frame with a double to left field. Jaycee Hegar followed with a single. Brenham once again successfully executed a suicide squeeze. This time it was Ali Tiemann putting the bunt down, which allowed Castillo to score. Hegar also managed to come home on the throw. That made the score 5-1 Cubettes.
The Lady Timberwolves got their second run in the bottom of the fourth inning to cut the lead to 5-2.
Brenham added two more in the top of the fifth inning. McKenzie Tiemann led off the frame with a solo homer, her fourth of the season. Aldyn Jaks drew a walk, and later scored in the inning to put Brenham ahead 7-2.
The score remained the same until top of the seventh. Sandra Prieto walked, and McKenzie Tiemann bunted for a single. Jaks moved the runners over with a sacrifice bunt. Davis grounded out to shortstop, which scored Prieto. Kylie Baker later came up, and doubled home McKenzie to make it 9-2.
