BRENHAM’S KUNKEL FINISHES 2ND ON DAY ONE OF REGIONAL GOLF TOURNAMENT
Day One of the Girls 5A Region 3 Tournament was held yesterday (Wednesday) at the Margaritaville Golf Resort in Montgomery.
Raylea Kunkel, who is Brenham’s lone representative at Regionals, finished the day in second place individually.
Kunkel shot a 73, which put her in a tie with Montgomery’s Katelyn Allen. They are both one stroke behind Lake Creek’s Kylie Ellegood, who shot a 72, which was good for first place.
The Regional Tournament continues today (Thursday). Kunkel is trying to make state for the second straight year as an individual medalist.
The State Golf Tournament is May 4-5 at the Legacy Hills Golf Club in Georgetown.
