Brenham ISD's perfect attendance giveaway,
receiving a 2025 Ford Bronco from Appel Ford.
This was the second annual vehicle giveaway coordinated by Brenham ISD and Appel Ford, who partnered to give a 2025 Ford Bronco to a student who had perfect attendance during any of the six-week grading periods.
The winner announced this (Thursday) afternoon was K’aaliyah Gibson, Class of 2029.
Brenham High School Principal Michael Watts and Appel Ford Owner Jon Hill called K’aaliyah and her mother, Ashlay, to share the good news.
The initiative is a way to incentivize attendance at school, with leaders saying it helps teach students the importance of being present and the value of consistency. It also provides the district with additional funding from the state, as school attendance is directly tied to funding from the state.
Brenham ISD Superintendent Clay Gillentine thanked Appel Ford for its commitment to the district, saying it takes a community to educate students and create lasting connections.
Nineteen high school students were eligible in the drawing, including seven freshmen, two sophomores, five juniors and five seniors.
Brenham ISD and Appel Ford look forward to partnering again next school year.
