NAVASOTA MAN SENTENCED TO PRISON FOR CHILD PORN
A Navasota man will be going to prison for a long time after pleading guilty to possessing child pornography.
On Monday, 46-year-old Cole Jackson was sentenced by 12th District Court Judge David Moorman to 25 years in prison for a first-degree felony charge of Possession of Child Pornography.
Once Jackson is released, he will also be required to register as a sex offender in the State of Texas.
The investigation began in February of 2025 when Sgt. J.D. Newlin of the Office of Attorney General Child Exploitation Unit was assigned to investigate three cyber tips of someone uploading child pornography to a Google Photos account.
During his investigation, Sgt. Newlin was able to identify the I.P. addresses that were used in the crimes, and wrote search warrants.
According to the Grimes County District Attorney’s Office, information obtained led investigators to Jackson’s residence in Navasota.
A search warrant executed at the residence led to the discovery of three cellphones. Each cellphone had multiple files of child pornography on them.
Jackson was arrested and taken into custody. He was later indicted in January of this year.
