CHAPPELL HILL CHAMBER HOLDS SPECIAL AMERICA 250 EVENT

  

The Chappell Hill Chamber of Commerce hosted a very special event on Monday night as part of their ongoing America 250 festivities.

The event was entitled, “We Hold These Truths — A Night of Remembrance.”  It was a sold‑out evening honoring the founding principles of the nation: faith, liberty and unity.

Guests enjoyed a colonial‑style dinner accompanied by patriotic music, joint recitals of historic quotations, and readings celebrating American ideals.

The program’s featured speaker was U.S. Army Green Beret, actor, and former professional football player Nate Boyer, who delivered a patriotic message reflecting on service, sacrifice and national unity.

Boyer screened a clip from D‑Day+80, a documentary he directed and starred in, which honors World War II veterans who fought in Normandy.

The film centers on first‑hand testimonies from the Greatest Generation, exploring how young men were called to service and helped shape the course of history.

In his remarks, Boyer underscored the importance of remembering veterans’ sacrifices and recommitting to the patriotic values that bind the nation.

Chamber President Sharlie Douglass said the evening was a meaningful way for their community to reflect on the principles that built this country and to honor those who defended them.

Douglass added that they are grateful to Boyer, to everyone who joined them for the commemorative night and all the volunteers that put together this special event.
