BENTKE AND HARDY NAMED TO BLUE BELL/TSWA CLASS 5A ALL-STATE TEAM

Two members of the Brenham Cub Baseball Team continue to add to their post season honors.

The Blue Bell/Texas Sportswriters Association Class 5A All-State Baseball Team has been announced.

Brenham OF Drake Bentke took home First Team All-State honors. This past season, Bentke had a .471 batting average to go along with 10 home runs, and 53 RBIs. He is scheduled to go to the University of Penn this fall.

Meanwhile, 1B Luke Hardy received Third Team All-State honors. Hardy finished with a .374 batting average plus seven home runs and 41 RBIs. He’ll be returning for his senior season with the Cubs this spring.

Both Bentke and Hardy were instrumental in the Brenham Cubs winning the District 17-5A Championship this past season, and then making it to the Area Round of the playoffs.

Hardy was the District 17-5A MVP, and Bentke earned First Team All-District honors. They were also both on the All-Brazos Valley Team and the Texas High School Coaches Association All-State Team.
