BELLVILLE SMALL TOWN CHRISTMAS GETS UNDERWAY STARTING THURSDAY

The 36th Annual Small Town Christmas is set for this weekend in downtown Bellville.

The celebration features holiday activities all through Friday and Saturday, but events begin as early as tomorrow (Thursday) evening, with the Little Mr. and Miss Small Town Christmas Pageant. That gets underway at 6:30 p.m. at the St. John Lutheran Church Faith Center.

Friday evening, starting at 6 p.m., the lighting of the courthouse tree by Santa Claus precedes the famous Small Town Christmas Parade. There will also be caroling with the Lutheran Church Choir.

Mini-park festivities begin at 6:30 p.m., and there will be plenty to do, including a real snow play area, a living nativity, and non-profit vendors at the Jim Bishop Pavilion.

“The Santa Clause” will be shown at 7:30 p.m. – be sure to bring blankets and chairs – followed by pictures with Santa at the mini-park gazebo. Rounding out Friday night will be a street dance with David Lewis.

Saturday’s activities kick off with breakfast with Santa at Newman’s Bakery from 8 to 11 a.m. There will also be a Farmer’s Market from 9 a.m. to noon under the Bishop Pavilion, and Market Day on the square from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Anyone with questions can call 979-865-3407, or visit www.bellvillesmalltownchristmas.com.

KTEX-106’s Trail Boss Troy will be there Friday night, in the friendly country cruiser.
