NAVASOTA MAN ARRESTED NEAR BRYAN FOR NEGLECTING STARVING HORSE

(Brazos Co. Jail)
A Navasota man was arrested by Brazos County authorities over the weekend, for neglecting a horse.
Sunday, the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office was sent out to Pleasant Hill Road outside of Bryan, to reports of a starving horse. The horse, named Pancake, was found malnourished to the point its bones were exposed.
Authorities took 54-year-old Lupe Garcia into custody, charging him with Cruelty to Livestock Animal. Garcia was reportedly caring for the horse while his wife was away, and did not call a veterinarian despite seeing that the horse was skinny.
The horse has since been taken to the Large Animal Hospital at Texas A&M University.
