BRENHAM WOMEN’S HEALTH TO CLOSE FRIDAY
Tomorrow (Friday) is the last day of operation for Brenham Women’s Health.
Its owner, Dr. Aaron Campbell, announced in January he would be joining Baylor Scott and White and offering healthcare services at Baylor Scott and White – Brenham Clinic. He will begin services at his new location March 19th.
In his announcement. Dr. Campbell said he would discontinue delivering babies due to the “extreme strain” it has placed on him and his family. One of the factors that contributed to this strain was the death of Dr. Wiley Nobles in September, leaving Dr. Campbell as the only certified OB/GYN in Brenham. Another factor was Dr. Campbell having to go on medical leave in the fall.
Dr. Campbell said he will continue supporting Labor and Delivery in Brenham by providing basic women’s health services, prenatal care and surgeries. He will also be on backup for doctors delivering at Baylor Scott and White, as it continues its search for permanent OB/GYN support.
Jennifer Campbell, co-owner and office manager of Brenham Women’s Health, said other medical professionals in the office are joining Baylor Scott and White. She said this move will be a great way to continue “providing great health care in Brenham”.
Staff at Brenham Women’s Health, which opened May 9, 2017, have been communicating with patients directly to help them develop a plan for deliveries.
