“CLEAR THE SHELTERS” SET FOR AUGUST 17TH AT BRENHAM PET ADOPTION CENTER

The Brenham Pet Adoption Center is preparing to “Clear the Shelters”.

Saturday, August 17th, all fees will be waived for adoptions, which will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.  There will be vendors available, a drawing for donated items, and goody bags from Puppy Dawgs and Cat Tails.

The event will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the shelter, on 1804 Longwood Drive.  If the shelter clears before that time, it will close earlier.

Last year’s event brought around 200 visitors to the shelter, while 56 animals were adopted.  Potential adopters should be prepared to be outside for a bit, as lines do tend to form out the door.  However, there will be tents, water, Kona Ice, a porta cool, and a porta potty from K&H Portable Toilets on site.

Adoption fees will be reduced the week before the event.  The regular fee is $95, but will be reduced to $40 for dogs and $25 for cats from the 13th to the 16th.

The shelter is looking for additional vendors and items for the drawing.  To learn how to get involved, call 979-337-7391.

KWHI will have a live broadcast from the shelter the morning of the event, with the Wagon Wheel of Prizes.
