WASHINGTON CO. AT 168 TOTAL COVID-19 CASES AFTER EIGHT NEW CASES OVER WEEKEND
Eight new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed over the weekend in Washington County, bringing the county’s total case count to 168 and the active case number to 110.
The eight cases were in six women and two men, all from Brenham, ranging in age from their 30s to their 80s. One of the patients is a resident of the Brenham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center (BNRC), which now has 103 positive cases, 79 of them active.
Of the county’s 110 active COVID-19 cases, eight patients are currently hospitalized. Thirty-six patients have now recovered, after three new recoveries were reported this weekend. Meanwhile, 22 patients have died, 20 of them from the BNRC.
At the BNRC, the facility’s positive cases are made up of 81 residents and 22 staff members. One patient from the facility remains hospitalized, while four have recovered from the virus.
According to officials with the Washington County Joint Information Center (JIC), an estimated 990 COVID-19 tests have been performed, with 127 of those at the BNRC.
