BLINN OFFERING SCHOLARSHIPS FOR TECHNICAL AND COMMUNITY EDUCATION STUDENTS

  

Blinn College is offering a variety of scholarships for students who enroll in its technical and community education (TCE) courses.

Scholarships are available for the manufacturing technician courses that will begin in January as part of the College’s three-course Manufacturing Technician Program.  Scholarships worth $550 are available for the AutoCAD course, $900 scholarships are available for Basic Machining, and $1,500 scholarships are available for Computer Numeric Control Setup and Operations.

The registration deadline is January 19, 2021.

Through the Manufacturing Technician Program, students learn to set up and operate machine tools to produce precision metal parts, instruments, and tools.  The program also includes instruction in industrial safety, precision measurement, and production quality.

According to Workforce Solutions of the Brazos Valley and the Texas Workforce Commission, manufacturing technicians earn a median annual salary of $36,729 in the Brazos Valley and $38,654 statewide.

The Division of Technical and Community Education has 10 endowed scholarships funded by more than $145,000 in donations.
