JOE NICHOLS TO PERFORM FOR MARK CHESNUTT AT AUSTIN CO. FAIR
There has been a change to the entertainment lineup for the 94th Annual Austin County Fair.
Thursday, the Austin County Fair Association announced that Mark Chesnutt will be unable to perform at this year’s fair, as Chesnutt’s management team says he needs extended recovery time for a recent back surgery.
In Chesnutt’s place, Joe Nichols will take the stage on Thursday, October 14th at 10 p.m.
Nichols has been a mainstay in country music for nearly two decades, bridging the gap between the genre’s old-school roots and today’s contemporary country. Nichols recently released a new single, “Homerun”, and some of his top hits include “Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off”, “Brokenheartsville” and “Gimme That Girl”.
The fair opens today (Friday) with the barbecue cook-off, Ag Adventures and champion drive. Tomorrow’s (Saturday) activities include the opening of livestock judging, home brew judging, the Fair Queen pageant and music from Pecos and the Rooftops and Kolby Cooper.
