ALL SALES TAX REBATES UP FOR LOCAL ENTITIES IN OCTOBER
For the fourth month in a row, sales and tax distributions were up for all Washington County entities.
The county’s rebate in October was $306,257, up 23.74 percent from the county’s payment last October of $247,482. So far in 2021, the county has received $2,918,435, 15.78 percent up from the $2,520,459 received to date at this time last year.
Brenham received $680,245 this month, an increase of 19.7 percent from when it received $568,275 a year ago. The city’s receipts through this month total $6,512,277, up 13.24 percent from last year’s payment-to-date of $5,750,722.
Burton’s rebate this month was $8,568, up 42 percent from last October’s payment of $6,033. For the year so far, the city has received $74,787, compared to $71,495 through this point last year, up 4.6 percent.
Comptroller Glenn Hegar reported a payout of $906.6 million in local sales tax allocations this month, up 20.6 percent from last October and up 13.5 percent for the year to date.
