BRENHAM SCHOOL BOARD TO POTENTIALLY HIRE NEW JR. HIGH PRINCIPAL
The Brenham School Board will potentially hire a new principal at Brenham Junior High School when it meets tonight (Tuesday).
Trustees will hold an executive session to discuss personnel matters before possibly naming a new principal.
Brenham ISD Superintendent Dr. Tylor Chaplin said the previous principal, Jamie Rochell, resigned from the position on Monday, April 4th. Rochell came to Brenham in April 2021 after working in Fort Bend ISD.
Dr. Chaplin told KWHI that Rochell did not elaborate on the reason for his resignation.
In other action tonight, the board will:
- Meet in executive session to potentially approve teacher contracts.
- Consider an access agreement between the school district and the City of Brenham for an easement across the Brenham Middle School property.
- Discuss a technology bid to purchase and install classroom interactive displays.
- Go over possible revisions to board policy pertaining to academic achievement – class ranking.
- Hear an annual report of board of trustee continuing education hours.
The board will meet at 6 p.m. in Rooms 111 and 113 at Brenham High School. The meeting will be livestreamed on Brenham ISD's YouTube channel.
