BRENHAM CUBS BEAT MONTGOMERY 2-1, CUBS WIN SERIES 2-0
The Brenham Cub Baseball Team is moving on to the Area Round of the playoffs after a 2-1 victory over Montgomery to sweep the series 2-0.
Blane Bolcerek got the win going 6 1/3 innings. He allow only one unearned run, on two hits, six walks, and striking out seven.
Mason Lampe came on to get the final outs, and picked up the save.
Ethan Jezierski brought the Cubs first run home with an RBI single that scored Colin Schaper with the first run of the game in the top of the first.
The second run came in the top of the third. Lane Sparks hit a sacrifice fly that scored Rylan Wooten with the second, and what would turn out to be the deciding run.
The Cubs will now face Pflugerville Hendrickson in the area round of the playoffs. Game information to be determined.
