NINE SENTENCED IN 21ST DISTRICT COURT

  

Nine people pleaded guilty and were sentenced this week in 21st District Court before Judge Carson Campbell.

51-year-old James Carroll Brunson, Jr. of Caldwell was sentenced to 8 years probation for Driving While Intoxicated 3rd or More, a third degree felony.  Brunson must also spend 46 days in the Washington County Jail as a condition of probation and perform 150 hours of community service. 

38-year-old Byron Alberto Zapata Gomez of Brenham was sentenced to 7 years deferred adjudication probation for Assault of a Family Member Impeding Breath or Circulation, a third degree felony.  Gomez was also fined $1,500 and ordered to complete 150 hours of community service.

38-year-old Shemaco Potts of Houston was sentenced to 5 years deferred adjudication probation for Conspiracy to Commit Theft from an ATM, a third degree felony.  Potts was also ordered to pay $1,100 in restitution and perform 100 hours of community service.

44-year-old Gabriel Moreno of San Bernardo, California and 32-year-old Gerardo Roque Zamora of Brenham were both sentenced to 3 years probation for state jail felony-level Possession of a Controlled Substance.  Moreno and Zamora will also each be fined $500, must pay $180 in restitution and will have to perform 100 hours of community service.

40-year-old Darius Desmond Roberts of Brenham was sentenced to 4 years deferred adjudication probation for Possession of a Controlled Substance, a second degree felony.  Roberts was also fined $1,500 and ordered to complete 150 hours of community service.

17-year-old Caden Alexander Howsley of Brenham was sentenced to 3 years deferred adjudication probation for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, a state jail felony.  Howsley will also be fined $500 and be required to perform 100 hours of community service.

31-year-old Sylvia Sierra of Pasadena was also sentenced to 3 years deferred adjudication probation for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, a state jail felony.  Sierra was also fined $500 and ordered to have no contact with the victim in the case.

53-year-old Clinton Shaw of College Station was sentenced to 2 years probation for Class A misdemeanor-level Possession of a Controlled Substance.  Shaw will also have to perform 100 hours of community service.
