LLOYD SAUNDERS MEMORIAL COOK-OFF COMING UP SATURDAY
Preparations are underway for the 14th Annual Lloyd Saunders Memorial Cook-off this Saturday at the Washington County Fair Grounds.
Each year, the proceeds from the cook-off go to raise money for scholarships for past Washington County Fair Calf Scramblers.
Registration forms for the cook-off can be found on-line at www.lloydsaundersmemorialscholarship.com.
Events for the cook-off include Bloody Marys, Chef’s Choice which this year is Spam, Margaritas, Beans, and Chili.
The cost to enter is $20 per event, and contestants must be at least 21 years of age to participate.
Plaques and cash prizes will be awarded for first thru third place finishers.
Judging begins at 11am with the Bloody Mary’s, 12:30 for Chef’s Choice, 1:30 for the Margaritas, 2:30pm for beans, and 3:45pm for the chili cookoff.
There is also going to be a cornhole tournament starting at 1pm, and a live auction starting at 5pm. A silent auction is being held as well.
The event concludes with a free dance that evening after the competition has concluded.
