BRENHAM MAN KILLED IN CRASH ON OLD CHAPPELL HILL ROAD

A Brenham man was killed in a single-vehicle accident Monday evening between Brenham and Chappell Hill.

DPS Sergeant Justin Ruiz reports that the accident occurred shortly after 8 p.m. in the 6500 block of Old Chappell Hill Road.

According to Sgt. Ruiz, a 2009 Chevrolet Colorado was traveling westbound on Old Chappell Hill Road when it entered a right-hand curve “at a speed too great for the curve.”

The vehicle left the roadway on the left-hand side, going into the grass and striking a metal fence.  The driver was unrestrained and was ejected from the vehicle.

The driver, 43-year-old Michael Dudich, was pronounced dead at the scene.  Dudich was the lone occupant of the vehicle.

  2. So sorry to hear this. If he had been wearing a seat belt, it wouldn’t even have made the news.

  3. My “brother from another mother” – fly high, with peace in your soul. I know without a doubt you were greeted with great love and welcome by a couple of people dear to us both upon landing in heaven. Please give them a hug for me. Love you, always.

    1. I was traveling the back road from chappal hill to brenham last week and was taunted by a black n silver Silverado because I guess I was going to slow..n he kept taunting me n then sped around me in the residential area…I didn’t understand the need to speed

  4. I live right at the curve and heard the impact. There were no tire squeeling sounds or sounds of brakes locking up. Sounded like a transformer blew so i went back inside as the car was coming that ended up being the caller to first responders. He lost his life without suffering is the tiny shred of positive in the tragedy. These 2 curves back to back in between Indian Paint Brush Rd and the back entrance to Blue Bonnet Hills are very dangerous and drivers flew by too fast all day and night….its sad
