TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO ARREST FOR LA GRANGE MAN
A traffic stop late Friday night lead to the arrest of a La Grange man by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office.
According to Sheriff Keith Korenek, at 10:40pm, Sgt. Ryan Meagher made a traffic stop on a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe for an equipment violation on the 100 block of Bending Road.
After making contact with the driver, Meagher conducted a probable cause search, and methamphetamine was located inside the vehicle.
It was also determined that the driver, 40-year-old Matthew Ellis, had a warrant for his arrest out of Fayette County for Violating a Protective Order.
Ellis was arrested and taken to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center in La Grange.
He was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, and served with the warrant.
