NCFCA IN NEED OF VOLUNTEERS FOR SPEECH & DEBATE TOURNAMENT IN BRENHAM
The National Christian Forensics and Communications Association (NCFCA) is preparing to host a speech and debate tournament in Brenham and is asking for volunteers from the community.
The Region 12 Qualifier tournament will be held January 7-9, 2025 on the Blinn College campus. Students will compete in Lincoln-Douglas and team policy debates, along with various speech events.
The NCFCA needs over 150 community volunteers throughout the three-day event to evaluate student speeches and debates, as it says the judges provide the students with real-world perspectives and feedback for improvement, growth and encouragement. No previous experience in either speech or debate is necessary to judge.
Judging each round is a three-hour commitment, including a brief training video, the actual round, and time to fill out ballots with feedback. Volunteers can choose to judge as little as one round on one day or as many as several rounds over all three days of the tournament. Complimentary snacks and beverages will be provided.
