A local food pantry in Fayette County is going to benefit from the generosity of a veterans’ organization.

American Legion Quade-Werchan Post #338 in Round Top and the Ladies Auxiliary held their monthly meeting last week.

During the meeting, members collected non-perishable foods to support a local food pantry.

After clearing the donations from under the Christmas tree in the legion facility, Vice Commander Marvin Wessels was able to deliver 67 pounds of food to the AMEN Pantry in La Grange.

The AMEN Pantry’s mission is to provide food and encouragement to families in their community.

Each week, their volunteers work to have a welcoming location and ensure that the food pantry is well-stocked for those who come and shop.

They are located at 851 South Reynolds Street in La Grange.

The American Legion Quade-Werchan Post #338 and the Ladies Auxiliary will meet again on January 9.
