BRENHAM SCHOOL BOARD TO VOTE ON LIBRARY POLICY REVISIONS

Revisions to school library policy will be considered for approval by the Brenham School Board on Monday.

Trustees reviewed the proposed changes at their meeting last month.  Administrators said the updates are meant to further align Brenham ISD’s policy on library book selection with what has been set by the state per House Bill 900 from the 88th Legislature, expanding terms on harmful, obscene, sexually explicit or otherwise inappropriate material.

In other business, the board will go through an annual investment policy review and possibly adopt a resolution related to review of investment policy and investment strategies.  It will also look to renew a contract for lawn care services, approve budget amendments and hear a financial report.

At the beginning of the meeting, the board will receive an update on Washington County’s participation in the Food for Families Food Drive held on December 4th.  It will also recognize the Brenham High School volleyball team.

An executive session is scheduled for trustees to discuss personnel matters and security devices.

The board will meet Monday at 6 p.m. in rooms 111 and 113 at Brenham High School.  The meeting will be livestreamed on Brenham ISD’s YouTube channel.
